DBs Vs. Pitt

4th Quarter.

Choking Steelers.

By TOM

Greetings Pats Fans,

First off I just want to thank all the fans of this site. I have been promoting my books for sale primarily on this site. As a result, I have sold almost 500 books in the past year. Thank you for your support and patronage, both are greatly appreciated. I cannot tell you how happy it made me when I read that report. So thank you Draft fans and Patriot fans alike, and mostly thank you to all the fans of my books and website worldwide.

As result of all your great support, the start of the Patriots season, and the release of my third book And One (or should I say second novella on kindle), I will be offering Manfred's Argument (my first novella) for free on Amazon.com from September 10th to September 14th.

To all my faithful followers. Thank You.

Sincerely,

TOM

DBs come out in a 3-W Singleback Twins-L: Run 7 for 8. They run play action and Payton slithers to the ground. Than he gets up and throws to Sanders. Pitt thought the play was over. He catches it and runs for 19-more yards. They like to run out of that formation three or four times, and then run play action.

1st and 10, 3-W W-shotgun Twins-R: Pass 2 for 2. Payton throws to the RB sneaking through the line like he is blocking. Payton throws as soon as he turns back, and he drops it as he turns to look at the defender coming up. 2nd and 10, 4-W W-shotgun, Trips-R. They run an ugly draw. Hillman tries to get outside, but he can't. 3rd and 4, 3-W S-shotgun Twins-R: Pass 6 for 6. Payton throws to Thomas underneath, and he can't break free to force the punt. Which eventually leads to a wacky and incorrect touchback.

Pitt comes out in a 2-TE S-shotgun. DBs go 3-4. They Bring four, and Roethlisberger hits Jesse James down the Seam, and he runs for a 1st. 1st and 10 again, 3-W W-shotgun. The DBs matchup in a 3-4. Roethlisberger hits Bryant underneath, and he runs for the First.

1st and 10, Pitt comes out Empty. DBs go into a 3-3 Nickel, with Miller on the line. They bring four, and Roethlisberger throws quickly to the outside WR. 2nd and 4. Pitt in a Bunched up shotgun. DBs go into a spread out 3-2 Dime. The RB fumbles and Ware pounces on it for the biggest play of the game so far.

Payton comes out in a Bunch-L Singleback. And you know they are running out of this. Anderson slashes to the left. 2nd and 8, 3-W Singleback Twins-R. They ran twice and passed twice from this formation. They run, and the refs call Holding on the DBs. 2nd and 12, 3-W S-shotgun Twins-L: Pass 4 for 4. Manning throws 15-yard downfield to the left and he hits Gay in the hands, and no one is talking about that drop. Gay should have had three INTs in this game. Ryan and Butler won't drop a softy into their hands like that one. 3rd and 12, 3-W S-shotgun Twins-L: Pass 5 for 5. Payton hits Fowler curling inside 14-yards downfield. He breaks a tackle and gets to the 31.

1st and 10, 3-W Singleback Twins-R: Pass 2 for 4. He hands it to Hillman. 2nd and 7, 3-W Singleback Twins-L: Run 7 for 9. Pitt jumps off sides. 2nd and 2, 4-W Singleback, motion into a Bunch-R: 1 for 1 Run. They run Hillman off tackle behind the Bunch.

1st and 10, 4-W Singleback, Bunch-R. They run Anderson behind the Bunch again. 2nd and 6, Payton checks into a 3-W Singleback Twins-L: Run 7 for 9. Payton gets the ball and whips it outside instantly to a WR uncovered. He runs for a First.

1st and 10, 4-W Singleback, motion into a Bunch-R: 2 for 2 Run. They run off tackle Hillman sneaks through the line, and gets flipped over inside the Ten. 2nd and 5, 4-W Singleback, motion into a Bunch-L. That is 5 for 5 run when they motion into a Bunch on the left or right. They like to run behind the Bunch. Hillman skips and dances for a 1st down inside the Four.

1st and Goal from the Two. 4-W Singleback, motion into a Bunch-R: 3 for 3 Run. They Run Hillman on a Dive, and Shazier hits him off his feet from the side. 2nd and Goal from the Two. 3-W Singleback Twins-L: Run 7 for 10. They run Anderson on a Dive, and he dives under the blocks less than a yard short. 3rd and Goal, Tight-Singleback: Run 1 for 1. They run. Anderson reaches out for the TD. The DBs go for Two. They come out Empty. They set up a Bunch on the right. Payton get the ball and whips it immediately to Thomas on a Bubble screen, and he converts for 2-points. DBs-20. Pitt-13.

Pitt comes out in a 4-W W-shotgun with a Bunch on the right. The DBs match up in a 3-4 Nickel. They leave Bryant wide open again 17-Yards down field in their Zone. He catches it. 1st and 10 Pitt comes out in the same formation. DBs stay 3-3 Nickel. They run a screen to Bryant, and he can't break a tackle to make a big play. 2nd and 9, 3-W W-shotgun. DBs go 2-4 Nickel. They bring four. Roethlisberger has to throw underneath to the RB. 3rd and 5, 3-W W-shotgun. DBs stay 3-3 Nickel. They bring five and Ware hits Roethlisberger as he throws. 4th and 5, 3-W W-shotgun, DBs in a 3-3 Nickel. And they sack Roethlisberger to end the Game

Payton on the game so far has 20 receptions on 37 passes, with a Fumbled Snap and a Sack. He only had one reception over 15-yard (a 17-yarder to Sanders), and one reception that went exactly 15-yards past the LOS in the air. His five other passes of 15-yards or more have been incomplete, which means he is 2 for 7 in passes over 15 yards or more.

Twins-Twins Singleback- Twin-WRs on one side and Twin-TEs on the other. With a single RB behind the QB who is under center.

3-W or 4-W- three Wides or four wides, which can include a TE, H-B, or FB standing up outside the tackles like WR.

I-Shotgun- RB lined up behind QB.

S-Shotgun- RB lined up next to QB on Strong side (right of QB).

W-Shotgun- RB lined up next to QB on Weak side (left of QB).

SB- Singleback- two TE, and two WR with QB under center.

Unbalanced SB- Unbalanced means they move one O-linemen to the opposite side of the line so there are three O-Linemen on one side of the center and one on the other. Usually the OLT moves over to the right side either inside or outside the ORT.

Pass- Means he drops to throw. If he scrambles or is Sacked the intent is still to pass.
