off I just want to thank all the fans of this site. I have been
promoting my books for sale primarily on this site. As a result, I
have sold almost 500 books in the past year. Thank you for your
support and patronage, both are greatly appreciated. I cannot tell
you how happy it made me when I read that report. So thank you Draft
fans and Patriot fans alike, and mostly thank you to all the fans of
my books and website worldwide.
For Miami: Part I.
Kick In The Nuts- That was a tough one to take. The team was so
blasé that it looked like they didn’t care. But I hate when pundits say
that, it just so stupid. It’s tough to describe what we saw. I can only
conclude that they looked unprepared. Detroit seemed to know what they
were doing, but the Pats rarely seemed to know what Detroit was doing.
Which is usually the opposite. The Pats usually win because they look like
they know what their opponent is doing.
this always seems to happen in September, but this one felt worse after
the Jacksonville debacle. But what should we have expected. They have no
weapons on offense. Gronk is obviously hurting. Patricia took White out of
the game. And they have nothing at WR. The Pats were also infamous for
their shall we say an average WR-Corps. BUT DAMN! This is the worst
we’ve seen, I mean, ever.
is terrible. If Gronk is a tight end and Patterson is a special team
specialist like Slater (which he sure as hell looked like on Sunday) than
the Pats had two wide receivers on the field. That is a crime against
as I have said repeatedly in a third WR at best. He is at his best when
the secondary forgets about him for a play, and he sneaks wide open deep.
I like Dorsett, but he is a number three at best as well. When he can use
his speed crossing is when he is at his best, but he doesn’t have that
knack for getting open deep.
is the worst WR-Corps I’ve seen. This is worse than in 2006 when they
had Doug Gabriel starting games for them. I mean, where the hell is Corey
Coleman. "Well, it was a different system, so we've gotten to know
him a lot better," BB said. "We know a lot more now than we did
then. But again, he's a talented player." Get him on the field.
it. That’s all they got. This season is going to be defined by their
WR-Corps or lack thereof. There can be holes in the roster. But when your
primary advantage against everyone else is the QB, you cannot leave him
naked and defenseless on the field. Sunday, Belichick left Brady naked and
defenseless on the field.
Gordon can get on the field this week it will start to get better. When
Edelman gets on the field in couple weeks it will start to normalize, but
will it be too late. The good news is that most of the Pats problems could
be solved by a number one and number two WR. But will it be too late?
Edelman is still a Number One and Gordon can still fill a Number Two role,
until he self-destructs, they could save the season. But September is
looking like a 1 and 3 month. It ain’t getting any better this week.
Unless Gordon has first game back syndrome, and has a great game. Then
Edelman comes back next week with a lot to prove to everyone.
goods news is that one of the keys to the Pats early Super Bowls was that
they started off 2 and 3 before the teams finally put it all together. It
started in 2001 and was repeated a few times. This looks like one of those
seasons. I don’t see any logical reason to think they can beat Miami
don’t know what happened to Flowers, but they need him back on that
D-line as much as they need Edelman back. And I don’t know what is going
on in the defense, but they need Bentley to be on the friggin’ field,
every friggin’ play. There are surprise rookies every year who just make
the team look better when they are on the field. Bentley is exhibit A in
those two players can get on the field the Defense will improve. If they
can get Gordon and Edelman on the field it instantly changes everything
(if Gordon is still who we thought he was on the field, because we really
don’t know who he is on the field anymore). Then suddenly Hogan and
Dorsett are your 3rd and 4th WRs, who don’t get schemed against.
while a 1 and 2 start is a couple-ah kicks in the nuts, it is not the end
of the season. They have a chance to save the season in the next couple
weeks. But that’s it. The deadline is here. Either the offense starts
being an offense, and the team comes together, or the Fat Lady will start
