7-Things For Detroit: Part III.

6. I Don’t Know- The Pats don’t know who they are yet. "I see they give you looks and then the same look and they do multiple things off of it,” BB said. “Sometimes it's hard to tell exactly what they're doing until after the ball is snapped, until it declares. That just can create a little bit of hesitation for the offense or the execution of the play. They do a good job of that.” BB doesn’t know who they are yet.

Josh Gordon doesn’t even know where he is yet. So how can I know what this team is. How can you know what this team is? They are building towards another 2 and 2 start in September. Where suddenly they start showing who they are in October. If they go 3 and 1 in September than they are a game up on last season, when we knew who are WRs are. We still don't know who are WRs are yet. I don't even know if Josh has been activated for this game yet?

Now I also know that Patricia has no idea what his team is yet. “As far as Detroit goes, there are a lot of unknowns there. Offensively, this is a very explosive group. The kicking game is very explosive and defensively, what they've shown, they've shown,” BB said, then went Wizard of Oz on our ass. “But we know there's a lot more behind the curtain than that. Nobody knows us better than Matt does. He's worked against our offense every day for a long time. I'm sure that he'll address it in ways that'll be challenging for us. We'll have to make some in-game adjustments and perform at a high level.” He is a first year HC, and has never coached an offense.

The good news for him is that he replaced an Offensive-HC in Jim Caldwell. "I think you play against a team with these three types of receivers that can obviously get behind you, catch the deep ball but they can run away from you and score," McCourty said about Golden Tate, Kenny Golladay and Marvin Jones. “And, you look behind center and there's one of the top quarterbacks in the NFL. It's just a tough offense to play against. I think quite naturally everyone talks about their pass game. But I mean, we're all really familiar with LeGarrette, and what he brings in the running game. And then [Kerryon] Johnson. I think the biggest thing in the pass game, once you add Riddick, there's a lot of threats out on the field.” Patricia’s offense has already been built for him.

But we don't know if he knows how to run it yet? Or where he is going to take it. Is he going to leave it to his OC completely, because that always doesn’t work out well. Does he stick his nose into the offense, like BB does. Because that can cause conflicts as well. He has to change things right off the bat. Which can be worse with a veteran team that is used to doing it a certain way. I can guarantee you that Caldwell’s way isn’t Patricia’s way.

I’m sure he’s not sure how much he wants to intervene in what his Coordinators are doing. "I think it's always going to have some challenges when you go to a new place and you're trying to do the best you can to coach it the way that you want it coached and do things the right way, do what you think is going to help the team win,” Patricia said. “There's always challenges and there's always actually rewards. There's other aspects of it that come into play like the players and unique guys that when I got here have different ways to do things and different opinions, which is great because I think that helps you grow as a coach and kind of helps the program develop its own way." So we have no way of knowing what the Lions are going to be this week.

As for the Pats, they are not who we thought they’d be. With Flowers and Wise injured last week, are they going to be able to hit the QB? I mean, I’m all for finally playing Derek Rivers. But he is essentially a rookie, and we don’t know what rookies are going to do once they’re on the field. The secondary has not come together yet. Is this the week they finally come together?

And do we really want to get into the whole WR Corp mess? I mean, who is The Guy. The guy who scares defenses. It ain’t Edelman. How injured is Gronk? Is he healthy enough to do what he did Week One, or is he stuck in Week Two mode? Then there is some pothead named Gordon who is the best WR on the active roster! If he is on the active roster? (He is on the Inactive List, along with Flowers, Rowe, Chung, Hollister, Some guy named Schwenke (which sounds like a joke;) and Cole Croston, and will not dress for this game).

If he gets on the field is he at 20%? 25%, 40%. What does a 33.3% pothead look like on the football field. I sure as hell don’t know? Brady doesn’t know what he is going to get from his locker room mate. BB doesn’t know what he is going to get from the guy he put next to Brady in the locker room. Josh doesn’t seem to know what he’ll get from Josh (you can read that three different ways;).

So if they don’t know who their team is yet, than they sure don’t know the other team yet either. “Again, there's only been two games here so it's hard to tell exactly,” BB said. “That's going to change from game to game. That'll change from game to game based on the game plan and the matchups and so forth.” Yeah, but it’s September in New England.

Which means they are not who we thought they would be. They are building to the team we want them to be. But they sure as hell ain’t there yet. The good news is that the Lions appear to be even further behind in finding out what they well be. They have no idea who they will be. So how can I.

7. I Don't Know? Pats Win- The worst news is that the Pats took a beating last week, and looked like a team in disarray. They were terrible. But I blamed that on heat. I didn’t see any logical way they could win that game in that heat. So the one thing we know is that Brady doesn’t loose two games in a row. I think this closed off trip to Detroit is just what BB needed.

Who has the mental advantage from their familiarity? It has to go to BB and Brady. “He knows us pretty good. Obviously we know that defense, we practiced against it for a long time, so it'll come down to execution,” BB said. “I think he's a great coach. He'll have those guys ready to play. They'll scheme up a bunch of different things to keep us off-balance. We saw that for a long period of time.” There defense has been terrible this season.

They have had two disastrous loses that have to hurt their souls. You have to know they are hurting, and don’t know if they can trust their coach yet. Patricia was a great coach here, but they don’t know him yet. Of all the mysteries in this game I think this is the one that is the biggest advantage for the Pats. BB has dragged his guys out of disasters before.

Patricia has not dragged his new guys out of nothing. "A lot of it has just been building those relationships and getting everyone to understand a little bit more about our big goal and how we need to play and some of the certain things that we need to do,” Patricia said. “And obviously bringing in guys that are familiar with me. I think helps that situation from the standpoint to translate or relate to those players from a player-to-player standpoint. Which sometimes is easier than a coach-to-player standpoint." Both teams are really in the same position.

The main difference is that the Pats have dug their way out before.

Plus, we got a Gronk. "I think any time Rob's out there playing hard, it's such a big impact on our team. When he's not out there, particular plays, I mean, it's just different,” Brady said. “He's one of the best players we have and he's got to play like it and we all have to play like it if we want to be productive. Obviously the best players have to play well and then everyone else in their role has to play well too. So that's what we're counting on." So while the Lions don’t know who they are yet, and the Pats don’t know who they are yet, at least Brady and Gronk know who they are.

So while both teams are struggling with their identities. The Pats have the advantage on the Lions this week. They are closer to knowing who they are, because of the years they have found themselves in September. That’s why they win. They are closer to being a team than Detroit. Pats Win.

Be A Citizen! Not a Subject!

Fascist is as Fascist does. Beware American. President Fredo is pulling the cowardly republican Senate closer and closer to the cliff.

Amendment I. Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances:

The 1st Amendment to the Constitution is the greatest paragraph ever written by mankind. It is the truest diagram of how to ensure a free Country of citizens survives. But is is also a list of what to attack when you want to be a fascist dictator. President Jerkballs is attacking every article in the 1st Amendment. Beware subjects, or you will be subjugated:

All's I want for Christmas is a

who lives to take away the right of Women!

TRUMP is not the disease.

He is a symptom of the complete corruption

of the Republican Party!

When a political party commits a coup in the

Congress and Senate,

and refuses to play by the Rules and Laws?

The only thing left is utter Corruption!

A disease of hate, insecurity,

Garland was chosen for two reasons: pure corruption and to protect

Senator Jeff Merkley was right about the problem with any nomination Donald Trump was going to make for the Supreme Court at this low point in the president’s troubled tenure. "A President under investigation should never be allowed to appoint a Justice to the Supreme Court,” the Oregon Democrat argued before Trump announced on Monday night that he had selected federal judge Brett Kavanaugh to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Justice Anthony Kennedy.

Merkley’s objection was generally appropriate, in light of the ongoing inquiry by special counsel Robert Mueller into wrongdoing by the president’s associates—and, potentially, Trump himself. But it is especially appropriate with regard to Kavanaugh.

A former staff secretary in the Executive Office of the President of the United States under President George W. Bush, Kavanaugh now serves on the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. He is a rigid right-wing ideologue who, if confirmed, would move the court far to the right. "The president pulled Judge Kavanaugh’s name from a pre-approved list concocted by radical, far-right special interests that are committed to undermining a woman’s right to choose, health care protections, safeguards for workers and seniors, LGBTQ rights, and a host of other critical public protections that touch the lives of every New Mexican and every American,” explains Senator Tom Udall (D-NM). "These extreme groups put Judge Kavanaugh’s name on their list for a reason.

But believers in the rule of law should be concerned that something else about this nominee appealed to Donald Trump. Kavanaugh has been an open advocate for precisely the sort of imperial presidency that the founders of the American experiment feared—and that Donald Trump relishes.

There is open speculation that Trump’s grip on the presidency is threatened by the special counsel’s investigation. But the high court could avert that threat. And Trump has every reason to believe that his nominee could tip the balance of a closely divided court in his favor. As Bloomberg News has noted, "Kavanaugh addressed some of the constitutional issues that could emerge from an investigation like Mueller’s in a 2009 Minnesota Law Review article.” What Kavanaugh wrote three years after he assumed his current position on the DC Circuit ought to trouble everyone who believes that the president is a servant of the people, rather than "a king for four years.

"I believe it vital that the President be able to focus on his never-ending tasks with as few distractions as possible. The country wants the President to be ‘one of us’ who bears the same responsibilities of citizenship that all share. But I believe that the President should be excused from some of the burdens of ordinary citizenship while serving in office,” argued Kavanaugh in the law-review article. He then asserted that "the indictment and trial of a sitting President, moreover, would cripple the federal government, rendering it unable to function with credibility in either the international or domestic arenas. Such an outcome would ill serve the public interest, especially in times of financial or national security crisis.”

"Democratic Senators Jeff Merkley of Oregon and Cory Booker of New Jersey said Trump shouldn’t be allowed to fill the court seat until the conclusion of the special counsel’s investigation into possible collusion between Trump’s campaign and Russia.

"A President under investigation should never be allowed to appoint a Justice to the Supreme Court,” Merkley tweeted Thursday.

Hey Trump, go pee in a hole!
