The New Celtics.

What We Learned From The Draft

(Celts lock for Finals;).

By Tom Mahoney

The reason the Celtics have no interest in Kawhi is Cap Cash. They want to stay under the Cap for one more season. That is what we really learned from the complete lack of moves by Trader Danny in the Draft, and the off season so far. They are approximately 10-mil under the cap. And they are not going over the Luxury Tax for nothin' or nobody.

Because they are also in the most unique, and best, situation of the four teams that were in the Conference Finals last season. "I feel great that we have a lot of players that people like and want," Ainge said. "That’s a great feeling to have. That’s not always the case, and that’s the reason we like our guys, too, is we have a lot of talent on our team. I’m excited about our team going forward." They have already added the most talent this off season of the four finalists, by far.

So quit the crying' Celts' fans, because this is your roster. "I think that most of that is false," Ainge said. "Especially the details of it. And what I don’t like about it is, I don’t like how names are just thrown around. [You guys] probably don’t care about the names. And that’s your job is to make good stories, and have things to talk about on the air. Most of it’s not true. But there’s sometimes bits and pieces of it that are true. So it’s not total lies. I can’t call it fake news. But it’s complex." I told you guys they ain't tradin' Brown for nothin'!

Ainge (no longer Trader Danny;) is not trading Kyrie's, Gordon's, or Horford's Salary slot for anyone (Kyrie is taking the Max Deal from the Celts next season). "These are complex situations, and I think that, just like [you guys] don’t like answering or having to respond to rumors," Danny said. "Even though it does give you good programming. I don’t like it any more: having to deal with the players that are calling me, and the agents that are calling me. When their name is in a rumor that's just totally made up." The Celtics are so talented right now (with LeBron gone;)? That if healthy, they are a lock to go to the Finals.

It is so easy to forget that the Celts already added two All-Stars to an Eastern Conference Finals Team: Kyrie and Hayward. The Warriors added the bitter and vengeful Cousins. The Cavs lost LeBron, and will be Lotto bound next season. Houston added a hope and a song. It looks like only the Lakers can over take the Celtics in the most added talent department to the active roster from the Conference Finals to now (and they sure as hell weren't anywhere near a Conference Finals last season;). They will be in the Conference Finals next year.

So they want to stay under the Cap for one more year, and want to hold off the vicious "Repeater Tax", which will almost quadruple (375%) every buck over the Cap. "First of all, we don't have the cap space," Ainge said. "And 2nd of all, we don’t really have a need. We have really good players." They have some really good CHEAP players.

The key phrase there is "We don't really have a need." That is what we learned from the Draft. The Celtics are set for a long long long time. If they can keep the personalities together? They are a dynasty waiting to happen. Trader Danny has put his gun in the holster. Because he knows he has acquired the most young talent since, gulp, the Three J's? Which is the only real danger to this team: immaturity, chemistry, and the Road.

The youngsters have to learn to live with each other on the Road, and not let egos tear them apart. "That is one of my regrets in pro sports, is that we didn’t have enough I would say camaraderie amongst ourselves, core values," Mashburn said. "And our egos were a little bit too big that we couldn’t coexist together for whatever reason it was." To not be burned up by being: too young, too suddenly rich, and too much on the Road.

Like a rock 'n roll band with a sudden hit that grew to hate each other. That is the only real and present danger to this team. The age of LeBron is almost over. The age of the Warrior's is almost over. And rising up from the ashes in the East are the Celtics. With young super talents who earned their experience, not on loosing teams like most Top Five picks, but in the fire and furnace of the NBA Playoffs. But money, women, ego, and the road has destroyed many more friendships than it's made.

I mean, the Celtics were led to the Eastern Conference Finals by three guys still on rookie contracts: Brown (2-years 11.7 Mil). Rozier (1-year 3.1 Mil), and Tatum (three years left on his rookie contract)! "I feel great that we have a lot of players that people like and want," Ainge said. "That's a great feeling to have. That's not always the case, and that's the reason we like our guys, too, is we have a lot of talent on our team. I'm excited about our team going forward." Your damn right that every team wants guys who led their team to an Eastern Conference Finals' Game Seven against LeBron.

AND ARE STILL ON THEIR ROOKIE CONTRACTS! "If I feel like it'll help our team we explore every trade of players of certain magnitude or superstar, first-ballot Hall of Fame-type of players," Ainge said. "We're going to take a look and kick the tires and see if there's something there. But that's all. I think those things are unlikely." Giving up NBA winners on rookie contracts for one year wonders is stupid (Yes! Read: Kawhi;).

The Celtics top priority this off season is to be under the Cap at all cost. That is what we learned from this Draft (sometimes it takes a while to read the tea leaves;). They had the ammo to trade up for whomever they wanted in the Draft. But that would have quadrupled or quintupled the Cap Space of the rookie contract. They were stuck at pick 27 for Cap reasons (and still got a top five physical talent;) for about 1.5 Mil, instead of 6 to 8-Mil per season. And trading that pick for a veteran likely would have been a disastrous Cap hit.

So why this obsession with not paying the Luxury Tax. Because they are in the most unique situation in the NBA. They were led by three guys on rookie contracts to Game Seven of the Eastern Conference Finals (against LeBron): you imbecile, you bloated Idiot, you stupid fat head (I don't know why, but that just cracks me up;)! Can you remember the last time that happened, because I can't? The unique, invaluable, and extraordinary experience that Brown, Rozier, and Tatum got this Post season, sets them up as winners for 10 to 15 years.

I think it is safe to say that we've never seen what the young Celtics achieved last season, after Gordon and than Kyrie got injured.  "It’s easier when you have three guys already that you've gotten from the years before," Ainge said. "And you got some budding stars in younger players that are progressing." If LeBron was the best player in the Eastern Conference Finals, than Brown, Tatum, and Rozier were 2nd, 3rd, and 4th.

They didn't just take LeBron to Game Seven in the Eastern Conference Finals, they were the leaders of the team once Kyrie and Gordon went down. And without doing any extraordinary deals!?! The Celts are adding two friggin' All-Stars to those those three young and extraordinary players (with Horford still leading in the background as well;). Those six guys are the base of the Celtics going to the Finals for years to come.

They accomplished so much more than the Three J's, who were really more a marketing scheme than a winning team. Because the J's didn't have any veterans like Kyrie, Gordon, and Horford to learn and lean on. And the Three J's didn't have veteran leaders like Kyrie and Gordon, two veteran All-Stars who got injured for the season, and still went to the Friggin' Conference Finals! But the invaluable lesson is still there for all the young Celtics, and Kyrie, Gordon, and Horford as well.

This team, historically speaking, will only be as good as their chemistry off the Court, on the Road, and on the Court. And the shots are about to shrink noticeably for everyone. Kyrie cannot average 25 PPG and only 5.1 APG, like he did last season. Though 10 APG could be the difference between winning the Finals and losing to the Warriors (though I do think they will lose to the Warriors in the Finals this season). Gordon cannot not average 22 PPG and only 3.4 APG, like in 2016-2017. And Brown and Tatum are not going to average 18 PPG, like they did in the Playoff.

So why not trade for a veteran this off season, because they have one year left were they can still be under the Cap, maybe two (and already don't have enough shots to go around;). Brown and Rozier (and likely Smart;) will be up after next season. This is the last year of getting three or four Playoff Veterans still under a rookie contract salary. Brown- 2-years left on rookie contract, and then BOOM! Rozier and Smart will be looking for 10-plus-mil per season a year from now (and are highly unlikely to get that from the Celtics): Boom! In three years, Tatum will get a Max Deal bigger than Brown's: BOOM!

Plus. they also have a slue of potential Lottery picks that they can rely on to add cheap talent in the coming years. That is why they didn't trade into the Lotto. They already have the Lotto picks that will be cheap NBA Contracts for four years after they are Drafted, like Brown, Rozier and Tatum are now. So when the Celtics are in the NBA Salary Cap penalty box, they can still add three, four, or five rookie contracts to develop. That is how a dynasty is built in the new Luxury Tax Capped NBA.

So they desperately want to be under the Luxury Tax this year, because that gives them four years before they have to pay 375% on every penny over the Luxury Tax. That is what Danny told us at the Draft. He is going to squeeze this year's team out under the damn Cap, like he's giving birth. It is going to hurt, and be ugly and bloody, but in the end it could be dynastically beautiful.

The Celts are about 19-Mil under the Luxury Cap right now. So they will NOT! Be paying Smart more than 6 to 8 Mil this season. They would rather lose him this off season than be over the Luxury Cap. That is their primary goal: add a healthy Kyrie and Gordon to an Eastern Conference Finals team (in an Eastern Conference that just lost LeBron!!!), and stay under the Luxury Tax at all costs (about 123-Mil). It is good to be a Celtic.

A 6 to 8-Mil contract to Smart would bring them up to about 115-119-Mil. Which would give Danny about 4 to 9 Mil to play with during the season. That is what we learned on Draft Night, and everything they have done since. They are at about 109-Mil right now, and they are not going over 123-Mil for any reason this season. With three or four uber talented youngsters hitting BIG contracts over the next three years, and a slew of picks to replenish veterans leaving, the plan was revealed on Draft Night for all to see.

Be A Citizen! Not a Subject!

Fascist is as Fascist does. Beware American. President Fredo is pulling the cowardly republican Senate closer and closer to the cliff.

Amendment I. Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances:

The 1st Amendment to the Constitution is the greatest paragraph ever written by mankind. It is the truest diagram of how to ensure a free Country of citizens survives. But is is also a list of what to attack when you want to be a fascist dictator. President Jerkballs is attacking every article in the 1st Amendment. Beware subjects, or you will be subjugated:

Mueller has already convicted 19 Trump guys, and three Corporations! "According to a recent poll, most Americans don’t think special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation has uncovered any crimes.

But the truth is that Mueller’s team has either indicted or gotten guilty pleas from 19 people and three companies — that we know of.

That group is composed of four former Trump advisers, 13 Russian nationals, three Russian companies, one California man, and one London-based lawyer. Five of these people (including three former Trump aides) have already pleaded guilty.

Trump's Traitors are now facing over 100 chargers, after 19 of Trump's Traitors pleaded Guilty (and thus have been convicted of TREASON!!!):

So far, four former Trump campaign associates – Michael Flynn, Paul Manafort, Richard Gates and George Papadopoulos – have been charged, though none of the charges are directly related to any misconduct by the president's campaign.

Alex van der Zwaan, an attorney, pleaded guilty to lying to FBI investigators during the investigation, and was sentenced to 30 days in prison in April 2018. He was the first to be sentenced in the probe.

The special counsel filed new tax evasion and bank fraud charges against Manafort and Gates in late February, potentially increasing the amount of prison time the pair could face if convicted at trial. The charges are similar to those filed in October.

Treason-Treason every where, even in Trump's pee stained underwear.

As the TREASON that Trump's Traitors have used to DESTROY OUR DEMOCRACY are leading to conviction after conviction, Trump's Traitors are going to Jail and testifying against Our Commander and Twit, and he can only lie-lie-lie like a dog dying of flea bites:

Mueller’s office said 13 Russians and three Russian entities, including the notorious state-backed “troll farm” the Internet Research Agency, had been indicted by a federal grand jury in Washington DC.

A 37-page indictment alleged that
the Russians’ operations “included supporting the presidential campaign of then-candidate Donald J Trump ... and disparaging Hillary Clinton,” his Democratic opponent.

Mueller alleged that Russian operatives “communicated with unwitting individuals associated with the Trump campaign”, but the indictment did not address the question of whether anyone else in Trump’s team had knowingly colluded.
