The New Celtics.

Game Three Is Something For History.

By Tom Mahoney

1. Banana Splits for everyone- The Celtics are going back to Cleveland to face an angry veteran team at Home. "We haven’t played well (outside Boston). We understand that," Smart said. "We understand (that), and other teams see that and try to exploit (it). But that’s the beauty of this game. It just takes one game. You never know when things change. Our confidence is high. Who knows, so we are going to go in with our game plan, and try to execute it." The Celtics have to continue to play as tough on defense as they have been to split this two game stand in Cleveland.

These next two games are not going to be anything like the first two games in Boston, the refs will see to that. "It’s the playoffs, Eastern Conference finals," Morris said. "It’s gonna be a zoo in there. The only thing we can do is continue to play hard and continue to give it our best shot." But the Cavs have been shown to be just plain lazy on defense sometimes.

The refs will be on the Home team's side in Game Three. "We have to be tougher. I think they’re playing tougher than we are," Lue said. "We’re seeing that. They’re being physical. They’re gooning the game up, and we have to do the same thing. We have to be tougher mentally and physically." He was saying the refs allowed the Home team Celtics to "goon" it up in the first two games.

It was a clear and present message to the refs, "please bail my lazy-ass team out on defense." Game Three is going to be near impossible for the Celts to win, like Game Four in Philly (if the Celts win tonight it will be a sweep). They will not allow the Celtics to play defense like they did in Boston. But Game Four? The NBA doesn't like to call out the fixers two games in a row.

Of course, while the Celtics were the more physical team on defense, it was the Cavs who gooned the game up. "Oh, man, we're out there to play basketball," Smart said. "I just looked at it, Al is a defenseless person. He's in the air. He can't control how his body goes. And he's not even looking. And you go and take two hands to the back. That's a dirty shot. You just can't allow that to keep happening.

"That's not the first time J.R. has done some dirty stuff, especially playing against us. He's known for it, especially playing against us. We know that. So it's like a bully. You keep letting a bully keep picking on you, he's going to pick on you until you finally stand up, and that's what I tried to do. One of my guys was down, and I took offense to it."

No one can disagree that the Celtics were the physical aggressors in the first two games, but they didn't give any cheapshots. "We just play hard," Horford said. "We go out there, we compete. It’s Celtics basketball. We’re really embracing Celtics basketball. We’re playing hard. We’ve got each other’s backs, and that’s it." The Cavs can say that was a result of the Home team refs, but they were the jerks giving cheapshots.

So I don't buy that line at all. "These guys have been awesome at guarding with the appropriate physicality without fouling," Stevens said. "[Their] being tough and covering for one another and playing with great multiple efforts all year," The Celtics are the more physical team, but they played it clean.

And the Celts were the much-much better defensive team. "This is something we wanted to be all year. We wanted to be a better defensive team," Stevens said. "We needed to be a better defensive team. We have a lot of interchangeable parts. All that is well and good, but if you don’t play with the right physicality. It’s tough." But the refs are not going to let them be as physical in Game Three.

The Celtics only have to split in Cleveland to take an unstoppable Series lead. "Ultimately anytime you play on the road the other team has great comfort playing at home," Stevens said. "They’ve been a great home and road team over the last few years in the playoffs. No matter what, you have to play great between those lines." The Celtics will split these two games with defense.

2. Amazing- I look at what is going on in these Playoffs, and what do I see? I see the youngest team in NBA History going to the Finals. Jaylen Brown is barely of drinking age. "We’ve gotten better as the playoffs have gone on," Brown said. "We didn’t get a road game against Milwaukee but we got one against a good team in Philly and we just needed to see one go in. Sometimes you need to see one go in to feel good about yourself, and we’ve seen one go in, so we are feeling good going into Cleveland." He just turned 21.

Jaylen has grown exponentially this season. He averaged 5 PPG last season. He is averaging a tick over 18 PPG in these playoffs. He is shooting an incredible 42.3% from Three in these Playoffs. He is averaging 23.3333333 points in the last three Playoff games. He scored 24 points in Game 5 against Philly, and 23 points in both Game 1 and 2 against the Cavs. That is stepping into Superstar territory.

Tatum could be arrested on the Road, in certain states, for having a beer with his buddies. "Most players come into the league and it takes a while for him to prove to themselves that they belong. This kid knew he belonged right from the get-go. There was no wonderment in his game. He just went out and did it," Tommy Heinsohn said. "He’s playing like a five-year veteran. His game has expanded exponentially since the beginning of the season, when he learned what was expected of him, how to do it, and where he fit into the scheme of things. He’s come a long way and now they’re depending on him to be a significant part of the offense." He just turned 20.

Scary Terry was the only four-year college guy in the starting lineup. "I’m going home and that’s going to be amazing," Rozier said, about playing in his home town Cleveland. "I was in this position last year [playoffs]. But I’ve a bigger role obviously this year starting. So I can’t tell you how great I feel. It’s crazy." He is the point guard leader at a wizened 24.

Those three guys average age is a tick over 21. I remember when that was the average age of rookies, not Playoff dominators. Horford is 31. Markus Morris was the fifth starter at 28 years old. That is the average age of 24.8 in the starting lineup of the Eastern Conference Finals. That has to be the youngest starting five in the Eastern Conference Finals ever.

Think about that. If they make the Finals they will have to be the youngest crew to make the Finals as well. With Kyrie (26) and Heyward (28) being added to next year's team. This is a Patriots-like Dynasty unfolding right before our eyes. This is really starting to look the beginnings of something that will last for over a decade, like the Patriots with BB and Brady.

Be A Citizen! Not a Subject!

Fascist is as Fascist does. Beware American. President Fredo is pulling the cowardly republican Senate closer and closer to the cliff.

Amendment I. Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances:

The 1st Amendment to the Constitution is the greatest paragraph ever written by mankind. It is the truest diagram of how to ensure a free Country of citizens survives. But is is also a list of what to attack when you want to be a fascist dictator. President Jerkballs is attacking every article in the 1st Amendment. Beware subjects, or you will be subjugated:

The Trump COLLUSION is now so obvious, treasonous, and glaring that even guys with (R)'s next to his name are calling him a traitor. A true Patriot marches with his eyes wide open. Cowards and traitors bury their heads in the sand to kneel at the alter of Trump.

Is is no longer open to debate. We were hacked by Russia in order to put a Dictator in as President. The proof is everywhere we look, above ground. Now, the Trump Traitor is more concerned with China Jobs than American Jobs. Is there no Country that Trump won't side with over real Americans. The NRA took money from Russia, and gave it to the Trump campaign. Russia is everywhere you look at Trump.

They are all over his Real Estate Business. They are all over Trump Towers world wide. They were so infested in the Trump Campaign that they were more fleas than spies. They were everywhere in Trump's banking, money laundering, and Campaigning. Trump is Putin's bitch. That is the truth that is destroying America today.
