Stupid Internet: Part II.

By TOM

The Pats came out 1st and 10 at the 1 and half, in a Singleback with Blount lined up between the giant T and R in the middle of the PATRIOTS written across the endzone. They run a Dive. Blount hesitated for a second to let his blockers work. Shaq knocked an LB on his back, as Blount burst through the line and cut outside. He held his feet as a defender grabbed one foot, and then powered through Shawn Williams for a great 1st down run.

1st and 10, the Pats lined up in a Twins-Twins Singleback. They ran a Smash. Blunt tripped through the line for a could of dust. 2nd and 7, the Pats lined up in a 3-wide Strong shotgun. Brady can't make a decision. His brain and instincts just aren't there yet. He tried to take off and got sacked. 3rd and 12, they motioned into a 3-wide Strong shotgun. They ran White but it is clogged. He tried to bounce it outside. He got caught to force the punt. The punt was good a good one. Brandon King threw Erickson spinning around out of bounds for nothing.

Cincy lined up in a 3-Wide Singleback. The Pats match up in a 3-3 Nickel. They ran Hill on a Smash, and he just followed his blockers for eight. McCourty finally dived in and took out his feet. 2nd and 2, Cincy lined up in a 3-Wide Singleback, and the Pats matched up in the same. Long and Ninkovich burst through the line. Ninkovich hit Hill first, but fell down. And Long swooped in behind him, and took him down.

3rd and 6, Cincy lined up in a 4-Wide Strong Shotgun. The Pats brought everybody up to the line again. They brought five, but can't reach Dalton. Dalton hit Green for an easy looking 30.

1st and 10, 3-wide Strong shotgun. The Pats matched up in a 4-2 Nickel. The line held a little better. Branch jumped on Hill right in the middle of the crowd. 2nd and 6, Empty. The Pats crowd the line, desperate to hit Dalton. But they only sent six. Hightower and Ninkovich dropped out right before the ball was snapped. Dalton threw quickly to Boyd running next to the Seam. He was uncovered, but the pass was behind him so he had to stop and turn back to catch it. That allowed Ninkovich to take him down quickly.

1st and 10, at the 16, The Pats matched up in a 3-3 Nickel. They can't get any heat. Dalton hit Green right as Harmon arrived with some heat. 1st and goal from the 2, the Pats matched up in a 3-3, and Dalton ran it in on an option run. Pats-3. Cincy-7.

Pats came out Empty. Brady threw it behind Edelman. Brady threw it quickly. It was high and outside, but at least he made a decision. He has to stop trying to think his way out of this, and just start throwing. The 2nd game back syndrome is one of the most frustrating feelings in all of sports (except losing of course).

2nd and 10, the Pats lined up in a 4-Wide strong shotgun. Cincy sent six. White had to stay in and block. He tried to take out the legs of the blitzer, but didn't take him down. Brady wanted to throw, but couldn't make a decision. He was sacked. He has to start throwing and stop thinking.

3rd and 18, Pats lined up in 4-Wide Strong shotgun. Brady finally made a decision on 3rd down. He stepped up into the pocket, and just let the ball fly. He over threw Hogan. However, Hogan was grabbed illegally by Fitzpatrick and the refs actually called it.

It was a bit of a chintzy penalty. "It's just our tempo and making positive plays," Hogan said. "Negative plays hurt your options. Making positive plays and moving the ball forward that's part of starting fast and putting points on the board." But at least Brady finally just threw it.

1st and 10, the Pats lined up in a Twins-Twins Singleback. They ran a Dive to Blount. An LB filled the hole and Blount had to sidestep behind Bennett. Blount finally rammed into Burfict for four, and the two-minute warning.

2nd and 6, Pats lined up in a 4-Wide Weak shotgun. Brady had time, and threw underneath to Edelman dragging across the middle. He turned up field and into three defenders for the 1st.

1st and 10, 4-Wide Weak shotgun. Brady had time and threw underneath to White. He headed through the center of the line, and broke outside. Brady hit him fast. The Bengals had dropped into a Prevent, and Brady was just happy as pie to throw underneath it to his playmakers. White made one guy miss. Then hopped backwards to make Burfict miss. But Burfict dived and took him down by the foot.

2nd and 3, the Pats lined up in a 4-Wide Weak shotgun. The Bengals' crowded the line a little, and didn't drop into the Prevent. Brady made a great decision. And as I said, he dumped it off to White flying out of the backfield. White ran for a 1st, and then out of bounds to stop the clock.

When Brady is struggling, he just has dump it off to White and let him use his feet. "Yeah, he was great again," Brady said about White. "He's been such a dependable, consistent player for our team and the role that he's been has been spectacular. I can't say enough great things about James as a player, as a person, as a teammate, his work ethic, his attitude. He went to Wisconsin, that's about the only thing bad about him." I told you-all White had to be great in this game to help Brady win.

1st and 10 at midfield 4-Wide Weak shotgun. Brady had time and hit Hogan crossing on the 3rd level. He turned up field at the Bengal's 38. He headed outside and tried to beat the safety to the deep corner. He was finally forced out of bounds at the 15, by the hustling Shawn Williams.

That was a great throw by Brady. "I was just trying to get as many yards as I could," Hogan said. "I know that defensive pursuit is always coming so I always try to maintain ball security and hold onto it. I was looking at the end zone, that's the ultimate goal, but after that we were able to get a good drive at the end of the first half." Brady hit him in stride so he didn't have to slow a bit.

1st and 10 Pats in a 3-Wide Strong shotgun. Brady had time, and never took his eyes off of White sneaking out of the backfield. White finally looked back and Brady hit him instantly. He sprinted outside and beat Dansby to the corner, and turned and ran easily in for the TD.

Pats-10. Cincy-7. "It was good," Edelman said. "It's last-shot mentality so you go out there and try to get some points and then try to keep the ball before the half. We were able to go out and get some points, that's the goal, and it was a good situational play." The Bengals then ran the clock out of the Half.
