Pats Win.

By TOM

The Pats received to start the game as the Broncos deferred. It seemed that all the teams are deferring like the Pats did last year. The Pats lined up in an I-formation. They ran a Smash right at Miller. Dion Lewis got the carry. Miller lined up outside of Cannon and danced around him to make the tackle.

2nd and 8, the Pats lined up in a Weak formation. The Broncos went into a Dime, and the Pats ran Dion to the left for a solid five. He ran behind Develin, Bennett, Thuney, and Solder.

3rd and 3, 4-Wide Weak shotgun, with a bunch on the Right. Brady had a ton of time as the O-line dominated. Miller dropped, so Cannon was able to double on the DE Wolfe. No rusher got within three yards of Brady. Brady threw, but Wolfe knocked the pass down to force the punt. Allen punted the ball, and the returner was out of position.

Norwood tried to flash to the ball and dropped the punt. "It was just a short punt," Norwood said. "I think it was a bad punt on the punter's part, so I tried to get up there and fair-catch it and save us a lot of field positions rather than letting it and maybe roll 20 yards down the field. It's a tough play that I've got to make." Jonathon Jones flew down and jumped on the Punt.

As we learned last week, turnovers kill. "No matter what the score is, it's a big thing," Norwood said. "You try to make tough plays to help your team win football games and unfortunately it didn't go that way for me." But turnovers on punts and kickoffs mass murder games plans.

1st and 10, the Pats lined up Empty. They are putting the petal to the metal this time. Cannon cut Miller, and Solder did the same thing on the other side. Which meant they wanted to do a quick throw short. Brady spiked the ball into White's feet terribly. White was open and Brady didn't even reach his feet.

2nd and 10, 3-Wide Strong shotgun. The Broncos ran the LB Todd Davis right into Cannon to block him inside, as Miller than ran outside to Brady. Cannon was able to push Davis back and outside so he got in the way of Miller just enough for Brady to throw to White. But the pass was low and outside this time. White spun and reached down, but couldn't pull it in. So far the Pats are self-destructing. It is not the Broncos defense.

3rd and 10, the Pats ran the ball, right up the middle, to get into position for the field goal. It's a shame they didn't take advantage of the Special Team blunder like the Ravens did last week. However, Gostkowski kicked it through the uprights. Pats up 3-Zip.

Denver came out in a Singleback. The Pats lined up in a 3-3 Nickel. They ran Forsett. He bounced it outside. Jonathon Jones gave up the edge, and he got 13. Butler finally pushed him out of bounds.

1st and 10, Denver came out in a 3-Wide Strong shotgun. The Pats matched up in a confused 4-2 Nickel. They rushed four. Siemian fired a rocket at Green, but he didn't come close to catching it. It appeared that Flowers, who zoned dropped, tipped the pass.

2nd and 10, the Pats stayed 4-2 Nickel, but put five guys on the line. They ran Forsett, and no one closed down the blindside again. He looped around the OLT for five. Butler swooped in, punched at the ball, and then took him down. Chung popped in and helped him out.

3rd and five, the Pats lined up in a dime with all five guys on the line. They rushed cautiously again. They brought three. Siemian threw it to AJ Derby well short of the marker. He tried to twist back up field, and stretch out for the First. But Ryan clamped onto him, and held on until he could spin him out of bounds to force the punt.

1st and 10 the Pats lined up in their Big Ugly Singleback, the Pats handed the ball to Blount. He stopped, and tried to spin around outside. He got swarmed over. That was not a good play. Four guys broke through the line.

2nd and 12, the Pats lined up in a Strong formation. Blount headed straight up field. Lowered his head as he strangled the ball. He fell forward for five. He ran behind Shaq, Cannon, Develin, and Bennett. 3rd and 8, the Pats lined up Empty. Brady had time and tried to hit White crossing, but the pass was wild again. They were force the punt. That is Brady's third straight pass to an open receiver that he misfired. However, a guy hit Allen as he punted. He spun him around, and knocked him down. The refs didn't call it.

1st and 10, the Broncos came out in a 3-Wide Singleback. The Pats matched up with a 3-4. They ran play action for Forsett. The QB turned and saw no one open, so he dumped it off to Forsett, who went through the line and was cutting outside. Jonathon Jones finally caught up with him and knocked him out of bounds.

2nd and 1, 3-Wide Singleback. The Pats went in a 3-3 Nickel, with five guys on the line. They run to the left again, and the Pats weren't quite their again. Forsett cut-back for the First. Ryan, Branch, and Brown stopped him just a hair too late.

1st and 10, Broncos in a 3-Wide Weak-shotgun. The Pats matched up in a 4-2 Nickel. They got no pressure again. The QB hit Green on the Seam. He got his bell rung by Roberts. He was forced to go sit down. 2nd and 1, the Pats matched up in a 3-4. They ran play action. Siemian hit Thomas on the seam. Jonathon Jones took him down.

1st and 10, 3-Wide Strong shotgun. The Pats matched up in a 4-2 Nickel. The coverage was good. Siemian had to dump it off to Forsett again. Jonathon Jones flew out to the flat and forced him back inside into McCourty, and they both brought him down.

2nd and 5, they ran a toss left to Forsett. The Pats defense read it, and a wave of defenders headed outside. It looked like they had him stuck on shore, but he splashed through the wave. Hightower got outside and took him down for nothing, but tt looked like it should have been for a loss.

3rd and 5, Broncos lined up in a 3-Wide Weak-shotgun. The Pats matched up in a Nickel. Booker ran a wheel route, and Van Noy had him covered in the Endzone. The Broncos were forced to kick the field goal to tie the game. Pats-3. Broncos-3. Rocky Mountain Oyster Refs-1.

The Pats lined up on the 25 in a Strong formation with Dion in the backfield. He followed Shaq hopping around Andrews to the left. A huge hole opened up right up the middle. He cut back for a great 1st down following his eyes.

1st and 10, the Pats lined up in a Weak formation. They give it Dion. He headed right, stutter stepped, and burst to the right, and curled back around to the left for eight. Thuney and Solder had great blocks on the 2nd level.

2nd and 2, they gave it to Dion again for the First, but a flag was unfurled. The refs called an odd holding penalty on the defense on a run play. I don't like that call.

1st and 10 at the 39, the Pats lined up Empty. Brady had time again. He tried to hit Bennett. But the pass was low and in the dirt again. Brady had been stunningly terrible so far. He is over throwing the ball in the dirt every time.

2nd and 10, the Pats lined up in the I. Brady handed it to Dion, and there is a big hole on the left, but it closed fast. Dion tried to spin through, made two guys miss, but the third got him.

3rd and 10, 4-Wide Weak shotgun. Brady fired it outside to White, and it is high and behind White. He spun all the way around to try and snag it, but couldn't hold on. It was another terrible pass for Brady to force the punt. Slater caught the punt on the eight-yard line.

The Broncos came out and ran for a 1st down on 2nd and 3. The Pats have to stop the run game. 1st and 10, the Broncos lined up in a Bunched up Singleback. The Pats matched up with a 4-2 Nickel. They blitzed Ryan and he broke up the TE screen. He got right in Siemian's face and forced him to over throw Derby.

Then the D gave up a long pass Heuerman on a seam route. 1st and 10, at the 49. Siemian slung it to Heuerman again. This time for nine. 2nd and 1, the Broncos lined up in a 3-Wide Singleback. The Pats matched up in a 3-4. Booker got the First too easily. Flowers and Branch made the stop.

1st and 10 at the 38, the Broncos lined up in a 3-wide Strong shotgun. The Pats matched up in a 3-3 Nickel with five guys on the line. They ran a Draw to Booker. Hightower burst forward, but missed the hit in the hole. But when Hightower fell down, he leaped out and swiped Booker's foot and tripped him up. 2nd down. They ran play action, and the Pats finally get some pressure on Siemian. Ryan flushed him, but then got tripped. Siemian hit Thomas for a First.

1st and 10, the Pats lined up in a 3-3 Nickel. They finally played some solid run defense. Booker is taken down by McClellin. Valentine and Flowers held him up, and when he tried to spin outside, McClellin and Ryan were there.

2nd and 9, 3-Wide Weak-shotgun. The Pats matched up in a 3-3 Nickel. Siemian hit Derby. Outside. McCourty hit him and knocked him five yards backwards. But Derby kept his balance, and tried to dogsled McCourty to the marker.

3rd and 3, the Pat milled around the line as the Broncos went into a 3-Wide Strong shotgun. Siemian got a little pressure. So he tried to throw to Sanders out in the flat. "He threw an out route to me," Ryan said. "And he threw a similar rout to me earlier and I just felt like it was third down and I just wanted to play the sticks a little bit [earlier]. I went with my gut and it paid off." Ryan moved backwards, but never took his eyes off of Siemian.

Ryan burst in front of him, caught it, and took off down field. "That was huge especially coming off of last Monday night when we had some sudden changes and ended up in bad areas and gave up two touchdowns," McCourty said. "They're driving down the field and enter the red zone and Logan makes that pick, that was huge for us defensively and for the offense to get back on the field after a big play. That's the type of plays that win big games down the stretch. Guys step up and make big moments. We really had that all night. Obviously the two turnovers with the fumble at the end and even the stops, three and outs right after another, kept the momentum and allowed us to play well all night." He ran all the way down over midfield.

They spotted the ball on the 46-yard line. "The turnover was a big one. That was a big turnover. It took points off the board for them in the scoring area and put us back on the field," BB said. "It was a good play for us, all the turnovers for us. You have to take advantage. We had some big, strong games in the passing game. Moving some 20 or 30 yard chunks there that helped us score or get into field goal range on each of those drives. It's a tough team to move the ball against. It's tough to convert on every down. We converted on a few and eventually they'll get you." That essentially ended the 1st quarter.

Believe it or not, but that was Ryan's first interception of the season. "It was a long time coming and I was the last one of the group," Ryan said. "It didn't even make sense. I was questioning life as to why I was the last one to get it, But now everything makes sense and they know that I'm back in the race." He certainly did garner his first INT at the perfect time.
