1st Quarter.

By TOM

The Pats were forced to receive by the Titans, and started out slow. They went 3-Wide, and faked a couple runs. It turned into Amendola trying to turn the corner. So on 2nd down, Brady went under center. Dion, danced, dinged, and jiggled for a few. Then Brady hit Gronk heading outside for the First. He almost reached midfield.

The Pats lined up in a Weak formation. and ran a Dive. The O-line got some nice push on the tough Titans D-line. They crossed midfield and went Empty. But Brady had no one to throw too. Then  Brady misfired to force the punt.

1st and 10, the Titans ran Henry. Brown, Harris, Chung, and Guy stood up to him. So they went Singleback vs. 4-3 again. Mariota dropped and hit Davis on an easy throw outside for the First.

1st and 10, Titans stayed Singleback. Pats stayed 4-3 with six guys on the line. Flowers went low to trip up Henry on a Smash. 2nd and 7, Titans lined up in an I. The Pats brought Harris in at OLB in a 4-3 with six guys on the line, and a Chung in the Box at ILB. Harris Grabbed Henry behind the line, and held on until he fell down.

3rd and 7, Titans motioned into a timeout. Then motioned into a Bunch up 4-Wide shotgun. The Pats matched up in a 3-2 Dime, with both ILB inside the DEs. They got great pressure. Flowers and Butler flushed Mariota.

Wise swooped in and sacked him with help from Flowers again. "All week we've been studying him, studying how he scrambles and studying the offensive line" Wise said. "So we knew if we crushed the pocket, he'll leak out and we can make plays." That was a great rush to force the punt.

The Pats worked their way over midfield passing the ball. "The first two drives we started a little slow, but then we picked it up after that," Dion said. "We just had to settle into the game and have everybody calm down. Once everybody settled in, we knew what we had to do." The run was getting stuffed by the tough Titans defense.

Then the Titans D stuffed the offense. "We just stuck to the plan and kept fighting and grinding. We knew it was going to be a long game and we had to fight for four quarters," Amendola said. "Playoff games are tough. And teams are playing tough. And we're happy we came out on top." The Pats were forced the punt again because of two great defensive plays, and a miss throw by Brady to Gronk.

Henry got the Titan's offense rolling. "They were getting us with the run, so we calmed down for a minute and had to realize what types of runs they were hitting us with," Ricky Jean-Francios said. "Once we did that we started knocking them around, and turned them one-dimensional. And then they had to pass the ball." Then Flowers forced an early throw that was defended.

Mariota ran to the 45 on 3rd down to keep the drive going. "Just keeping [Mariota] in the pocket. Be responsible, don't try to get all wild and get over the top or try to shoot up field," Francios said. "You got to rush somebody like that responsibly because a guy like him can just break and just go and run." They didn't keep Mariota in the pocket there.

1st and 10 at the 45, the Titans went into a 4-Wide Weak. The Pats matched up in a 3-3 Nickel. They ran toss. Chung made Henry go further outside than he wanted. "To me, the focus was tackling him. I think up front, our guys always do a good job of defeating blocks and making it tough inside to run the ball," McCourty said "But we knew with Henry, obviously he's a huge back but he does have the ability to bounce out and a couple times he did bounce out." Butler and McCourty swooped in to cut him down.

2nd and 7, Empty. Pats went 4-1 Dime, with Chung in front of the Bunch on the Left. "We just stuck to the game plan," Wise said. "Coach always said to do our jobs And we had to keep doing our job and do it better. And that's what we did all game." They ran up the line, and Guy and Harris took Henry down.

3rd and 3, and the Titans lost their OLT Conklin. "When somebody gets a group sack in our group, it's a group sack because everybody has to do their job," Van Noy said. "It was fun tonight. We kind of show our defense and the offense played off each other. That's Patriot football. It wasn't perfect but it was good." The Pats need to overload the Weakside.

They matched up in a 3-3 Nickel. With all six guys on the line, and two guys right on the OC, looking for a Dive left. They sent five. Marquise Flowers dropped, and leaped up and almost defended the pass. But ex-Dolphin Rishard Mathews caught it for he First. Flowers tripped up Mariota for a little late pressure (or just a little late;).

1st and 10 at the 30, Empty. "First, it's playing well on 1st and 2nd down to get to those 3rd-and-longers," McCourty said. "And then we just try to make our coverages hard to get the 1st down to force them to check it down. And then, like it's talked about earlier, relying on rallying to the ball and tackling. If you can make them throw it short, and make a guy try to break a tackle or two, that's when your tackling shows up, and we did a good job of that tonight." The Pats stayed with all the guys on the line in a 3-2 Dime.

They sent three right up the middle to stop Mariota from bursting forward. Mariota couldn't find anybody. As soon as he saw Guy slipping the ORT he threw the ball away, which seemed very smart to me. 2nd and 10, the Titans motioned into a 2-Wide Strong Shotgun. The Pats matched up in a 3-3 Nickel. They ran the option and Mariota kept it for the First.

Titans went Singleback. The Pats D crowded the line at the 19, in a 3-4 with Harris in at OLB. Henry burst through the line. "Shout outs to the defensive line: Ricky, Lawrence [Guy] and Malcom for shutting down Henry and shutting down the whole running game," Wise said. "When it came to 3rd down, the pass rushers started doing their stuff. We just crushed the pocket down and made plays." Guy hogtied him down.

2nd and 6, Titans Bunch-Left Strong shotgun. Pats went 3-3 Nickel with five guys on the line. Mariota threw a perfect pass to Davis. He held off Butler with one hand, and pulled the ball in with the other.

The Pats allowed the Titans to out physical them on that drive. "I can't even really tell you, to be honest. I just know they were hitting us with runs here and there," Francois said. "But once we got a hold of it, it was controlled and we kept them to, if I'm not mistaken, 65-yards rushing. So that was a good day." That did not continue.

Be A Citizen! Not a Subject!

Fascist is as Fascist does. Beware American. President Jerkballs is pulling the cowardly republican Senate closer and closer to the cliff.

Amendment I. Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances:

The 1st Amendment to the Constitution is the greatest paragraph ever written by mankind. It is the truest diagram of how to ensure a free Country of citizens survives. But is is also a list of what to attack when you want to be a fascist dictator. President Jerkballs is attacking every article in the 1st Amendment. Beware suckers, or you will be subjugated:
