1st Quarter.

The Pats started out with a sad little three and out. Then the Bills get to midfield behind three straight runs by Shady. 1st and 10, shotgun, the Pats matched up in a 4-3 with six guys on the line. They are all looking at Shady here. Bills throw a bubble screen to Thompson. Pats had numbers. Chung, Gilmore, and Lee all got out and tripped him up. But he dived forward for seven.

The Bills went Empty, the Pats had to spread it out. But kept five guys on the line. They sent four. They were able to contain Taylor. He whipped the ball at Cadet. However, Chung knocked the ball out of his hands to set up 3rd and 3. Pats match up in a 4-1 Dime. But Benjamin ran a slant inside. He got inside position on Gilmore and that was all he needed for the First.

Bills lined up like they were going to run again in a Bunched right Singleback. Pats matched up in a 3-4, with four guys on the line. They faked a toss to the Bunch side, and Taylor rolled out. They caught Flowers in the middle of Taylor and the RB swinging outside. Then Taylor threw it late to Brandon Tate, and he couldn't snag it.

2nd and 10, Pats crowd the line with five guys, two up three down. They ran Shady up the gut. Marques Flowers snagged his legs, as Chung, who was playing the Mike, helped out. 3rd and 4, Bills went back to a 4-Wide Strong shotgun. Pats matched up in a 4-1 Dime. They sent five.

Flowers flushed Taylor. "We were there in the 1st half, we just weren't making a lot of plays," Flowers said. "Credit to them, they've got great players and they made some plays. We just came together and just realized we have to make those plays. We were in the right position, we just have to execute." But then he got thrown to the ground by the Tackle, as Taylor took off to his left. McCourty and Wise tried to beat him to the marker, but he was too fast.

1st and 10, Bills went into a 3-Wide run formation again. The Pats match up with a 4-3. They give it to Tolbert on a Smash. Brown smashed into him for a loss, with help from Roberts.

2nd and 12, it looked like power vs. power again. But Taylor threw outside to Benjamin on a comeback. 3rd and 4, 3-Wide Strong shotgun. Pats matched up in a 4-2 Nickel with six guys on the line. They ran Tolbert. He weaved his way forward for a First inside the 20.

Taylor lined up in a Shotgun. The Pats stayed Nickel. They ran a shuffle pass inside to Clay. Marquis Flower knocked him back, and Lee and Brown took him down. 2nd and 11, the Pats sent four. Taylor overthrew Clay. 3rd and 11, the Pats matched up in a crowded 3-3 Nickel with all six guys on the line. They sent four. The coverage was good, so Taylor tried to take off. But Wise was able to stop, shove off the OLT, and hit Taylor short of the line for a sack. Adam Butler jumped in to help.

They finally stopped the Bills on 3rd down. "We spent a lot of time on the field in the first half because we couldn’t make those 3rd-down conversion," BB said. "They had five 3rd downs on the first drive. We finally made the last one. They were four-for-five, but they moved the ball all the way down the field and got the field goal." Bills were forced to kick the FG. Pats-Zip. Bills-3.

Pats lined up in a Singleback and ran a ragged double fake reverse into a Screen that was overwhelmed by Preston Brown. 2nd and 11, Pats in a 3-Wide Strong shotgun. Brady ran a little play action to Dion. Then looked at two guys, and went back to Dion. 3rd and 6, Pats lined up in a 4-Wide Strong shotgun. Brady had time and hit Amendola crossing on the second level.

1st and 10, Pats lined up in a power run formation. But Brady dropped, and didn't even play action. He whipped it outside to Hollister. He caught it short. Then just kind of fell down.

2nd and 6, 2-Wide Weak shotgun. They ran Dion to the right. He used his speed to get outside. "All of our backs are good backs," Shaq said. "But the way Dion runs the ball, he's a special runner. We're blessed to have him." Then cut inside on a great block by Shaq.

1st and 10, Pats went Singleback. Lewis got caught behind the line. Pats go back to the Singleback, but motioned Dorsett across the line. He got a couple yards downfield, and Brady hit him. He made one guy miss and ran to the 25.

1st and 10, Power I. They ran Gillislee off tackle. He turned up field and looked like he had some room, but he got tripped up. Pats then lined up in an odd 4-Wide Singleback. Brady kept it. He looked right and had nothing. So he turned back and hit Gronk about a yard down field.

He stopped and kind of stalled with White trying to trap him in space. "Sorry to them for that," Gronk said. "It's cool when you're hometown team passes on you twice in that draft, and you kind of remember it still. So, no lie. I remember it every single time I play them." Then Gronk danced around White for the First.

The Pats quickly went into an I formation. Dion ran a Dive. He cut to the left for a few. "Whenever I'm playing football, I'm having fun. I'm just grateful for the opportunity I was given today," Dion said. "My role was a little bit different than it usually is and I just got to take advantage of it. I just got to keep trying to get better every weekend." He got down to the Eight, and lined up in a Singleback.

They ran a jet sweep to Hollister. He got outside, but as soon as he turned up field he was done. "We went out there and played the way we wanted to play," Shaq said. "It's a fun game when you can move the ball and do the things we did today." 3rd and 2 from the three, 2-Wide Strong shotgun, with Gronk in motion. Brady had time, and threw a terrible pass ten feet over Gronk's head to force the FG. Pats-3 Bills-3.
