Pats Vs Falcons: Part I.

Greetings Pats Fans,

First off I just want to thank all the fans of this site. I have been promoting my books for sale primarily on this site. As a result, I have sold almost 500 books in the past year. Thank you for your support and patronage, both are greatly appreciated. I cannot tell you how happy it made me when I read that report. So thank you Draft fans and Patriot fans alike, and mostly thank you to all the fans of my books and website worldwide.

1st Quarter.

The Pats win the toss and start out with the ball. Dion hit the line for very little on 1st down. Then they went to the air, and Brady riffled the ball at Gronk who was well covered. But the refs called a penalty on Trufant for holding Gronk. So the Pats went back to the run. Dion hop cut outside to make a guy miss, and then back inside for three. But a penalty was call. So the Pats went 4-Wide Strong shotgun, and Brady dumped it off to Dion for six. 2nd and 11, Brady hit Amendola in the hands and he looked like he never saw it. 3rd and 11, Brady hit Gronk on a crossing pattern for a First, and suddenly the Pats are at midfield. But a flag ruined the mojo of the game.

The refs finally called too many men on the field on the Falcons. 1st and 5, Empty. Dion returned next to Brady again. They ran Dion right. He got caught from the side, and spun down.

2nd and 3, Singleback. The Flacons swarmed over the O-line, and blew the play up so bad Solder got called for holding. 2nd and 13, Pats lined up Empty at the 32, after the 4th penalty was enforced. Brady hit Amendola for a five.

3rd and 8, 4-wide Weak Shotgun. Brady had a ton of rushers run past him. He threw wildly to stop from getting sacked to force the punt. Then Atlanta got called for off sides for the fifth penalty called on the monstrous opening drive. This drive was an ugly metaphor for the rest of this spooky game.

1st and 10. Atlanta lined up in a Singleback. The Pats matched up in a 4-3. They ran Freeman up the gut. "The motivation really was we knew if we didn't come ready to play that Matt Ryan had the ability to really kill us. You put him back there with the receivers they have, we knew it was going to be a huge challenge," McCourty  said. "So defensively, especially in the secondary, we knew we had to execute the game plan. We felt that we had a really good game plan our defensive coaches came up with, and I think we kind of knew if we executed and played to it, then we were going to have a great chance to go out there and win today. I thought guys played very confident for all four quarters. Like I said, the one touchdown we gave up was a great play by Julio Jones." He was stuffed right away by Hightower after two.

2nd and 8, Atlanta in an I. Pats matched up in a 3-4, in Man. They sent five. Ryan turned and threw short to Sanu. He broke a tackle for eight. 3rd and 2, Falcons lined up Empty. The Pats matched up aggressively in Man, with 9 guys on the line. But they only sent three. They get good pressure. Ice got bumped as he threw. Chung had great coverage on Sanu, and broke it up outside. Nice defense to force the punt.

1st and 10, Pats lined up in a Singleback. They ran play action. And De'Vondre Campbell blindsided Brady like a wrecking ball. "It's a game we can definitely build off of. I think we did a lot of good things," Solder said. "I know I played better and I know that's the way I want to play, and I want to keep doing that." Terrible terrible.

2nd and 17, Pats Empty. Brady had time to go deep. He threw a high long pass to Gronk. And the chicken shit refs call a chicken shit shove off, even though he did not extend his arms fully, and it led to another punt.

1st and 10, the Falcons lined up in a Singleback. Pats matched up in a 3-3 Nickel. Falcons ran Freeman right into Brown. "We all just came out fighting," Jonathan Jones said. "Like you said, it's a domino effect. We come out with good energy, make one stop and they keep adding up. I think we were able to get on them early." 2nd and 6, the Falcons lined up in a 3-Wide Singleback. The Pats matched up in a spread out 4-2 Nickel.

They ran play action, and Ice bootlegged out of the pocket. He had a free shot at Julio. "It's good," Butler said. "You can pick up tendencies and you just know what's going to happen." Ice hit Julio for 15-Yards, even though Butler was all over him.

1st and 10, Falcons lined up in a Singleback. The Pats matched up in a 3-3 Nickel. They ran Coleman, and Flowers smacked him down fast. "I think as a team, we're happy as far as how we managed the game," Flowers said. "We're going to look at the film and see that we missed some opportunities here and there. We can always be better, but that was a step in the right direction." He was lucky to get a yard.

2nd and 9, the Falcons lined up in a 2-Wide Winged shotgun. The Pats matched up in a 3-3 Nickel. They ran Freeman on a Dive. He curled back into Chung for about five. 3rd and 4, the Falcons lined up in a Trips Right Strong shotgun. The Pats matched up in a 4-1 Dime.

They ran a toss. Jonathon Jones sent Freeman inside right into Van Noy. "We made a lot of stops on third down and fourth down, but we gave up like three scrambles. I think those are the third and fourth down conversions. I don't know if it was all of them but it seemed like it was most of them," BB said. "I thought, again, we made a lot of plays when we needed to make them: red area, third down, some critical situations, goal line. We didn't make all of the plays, but when big plays came up we were able to make those plays. Those are big stops for us. Again, give the players credit. They're covering good receivers. They're playing against a good offensive team, a good quarterback, good system, good offensive line. They just really competed with them all the way through." 4th and 7, the Flacons go for it, and Ice runs for the 1st.

1st and 10, Singleback. Pats matched up in a 3-4. Falcons ran a Toss, but Freeman crashed into Hightower at the Will. "I think it's on all of us. Nobody can point fingers at nobody. We just have to figure out ways to win," Freeman said (sounding a little Patriotic;). "On all three phases, offense, defense, and special teams, just figure out a way to win. There isn't pointing no fingers at anybody, because when we win the Super Bowl there isn't going to be any pointing fingers at how good we were. So we'll just take this as a lesson." Dant'e held him until Flowers and Harmon helped bring him down.

2nd and 9, the Falcons lined up in a Singleback. Pats matched up in a 3-3 Nickel. But they ran play action that froze the front four. Ryan threw a perfect pass to Sanu between McCourty, Chung, and Van Noy at the 20. 1st and 10, the Falcons lined up in a Singleback. The Pats matched up in a 2-4 Nickel. They handed the ball off to Coleman.

Butler sliced inside like a torpedo. "Most definitely," Butler said. "We had a good week of preparation and knew they were going to come in here and try to take a win. So we just had to match their intensity." Butler flipped Coleman over like a pancake behind the line of scrimmage.

2nd and 10, the Falcons lined up in a 4-Wide Strong Shotgun. Pats matched up in a 4-1 Dime. They sent 3. Ryan over threw Sanu in the endzone. 3rd and 10, the Falcons lined up in a 4-Wide Strong Shotgun. The Pats crowded the line with five guys. They sent four. Marsh forced Ryan to run to his left, and threw the ball at Gabriel on the move.

But Butler had good position. "No big plays," Butler said. "Tackled well. We just competed all the way through. We played good on offense, defense, and special teams." Butler leaped up, and just got a fingernail on it to force the FG.

But a strange thing happened on the way to a 3-0 game. "It's a relief to know I was able to get my hands on the ball because the offense won't score any points," Cassius said. "I penetrated and stayed low so that I was able to drive into the tight end's shoulder to tip the ball. I had to make sure to keep my lower body strong so that I didn't lose my balance or get tangled up in another player's feet." Cassius Marsh burst inside and dived at the holder with both hands out like Superman.

Special teams came through again for the Pats. "That's another thing that we've worked really hard on is our field goal rush. Guys work hard on that every week. Cassius has gotten some opportunities in practice," BB said. "Cassius got a hand on it. It was a big play for us because, again, we worked so hard on that and that's everybody across the board. That's all 11 guys, not just the guy that blocks it. The other guys have to do their job and if they block Cassius and take him away then that gives somebody else an opportunity so we never know how that's going to go.

"We just want everybody to come hard, and do their job right, and wherever the opening is it is. That was a big play for us. Again, you can see the whole team. We were all excited: sideline, players, guys on the field. That was a big moment for us. Our special teams units work very hard. They take a lot of pride in their job: the return teams, the coverage teams, the field goal, and the field goal block team. It's good to see that hard work pay off in a big play like that." That essentially ended the 1st Quarter Zip-Zip.
