1st Quarter: Part I.

By TOM

Jaguars started out the game in an I-Formation. They ran a dive up the gut. Fournette dived forward for four. 2nd and 5, Jags lined up in a 3-TE-Left Singleback. Bortles dumped it off to the TE on the right. He ran for the First.

1st and 10, Jags went Singleback, with the WRs in tight next to the TEs. Bortles ran play action, which is tough, because the Jags like the Singleback formation, because it is just as easy to run as it is to pass in. Bortles had a clean pocket. He stepped up and threw to Marques Lee on the 3rd level.

"Blake Bortles is in the AFC Championship. There's no other way to put it. The media and all the other team guys can talk about how 'trash' he is, but he's beaten teams," Eric Rowe said. "Obviously he's a good scrambling quarterback, he has an arm, he has receivers and he's in the championship, so obviously he's a great player. You can't be 'trash' and be in the championship game."

1st and 10, the Jags lined up in a Twin-TE-Right Singleback. They ran play action again. Bortles dumped it off to O'Shaughnessy outside, and he ran for the First inside the 10.

1st and Goal from the 9, the Jags went Twin-TE Left Singleback. They motioned into a Bunch-Left Singleback. They ran a Smash. Fournette powered for a few.

2nd and Goal form the 5, Jags motioned into a 2-TE I. Fournette just crashed right up the middle for a few more. 3rd and Goal from the 2, Jags lined up in a 3-TE I. They ran play action. Bortles waggled outside and threw the ball out of bounds.

"Bill said that in a meeting the other day, that they are a team who is not scared to go for it on fourth down. The biggest thing is awareness. We've got to know once they get in that territory that we kind of call 'Cuatro situation,' that third down is not really third down," McCourty said. "We've got to be prepared for a play that might gain a couple of yards, but not maybe a first down, but get them close enough to the stick. Whether it's in a goal line situation like last week, or you stop them on third down and you're going crazy, you've got to realize that they'll line it up and go for it. So, I think it's more awareness, because at the end of the day we've got to execute whatever defense we call. And we've got to just be aware of how it might change the play-calling and what they're trying to do."

4th and Goal from the 2, Jags went back to the 3-TE I. They ran Fournette. He leaped in the air from the 3. He got a helmet to helmet hit in midair, and still landed in the Endzone. That was an incredible leap. Jags-7. Pitt-Zip.

Pitt came out Empty. Jags mulled around and slowly formed into a 4-1 Dime with a zone umbrella behind the four down linemen. They formed a short zone by the magic yellow line. Roethlisberger threw a bad pass. 2nd and 10, Pitt stayed Empty. Jags went into a similar odd Cover One Dime, with four down linemen.

They want to keep everything in front of the DBs and LBs, and just have them run to the ball. "They run well," Amendola said about the Jags D. "They're well-coached. They're strong. They're big, and they play physical. They're a talented football team." Roethlisberger threw a Bubble screen, and the two ILB Posluszny and Telvin Smith stopped it quickly.

The Pats and Jags actually had a week of practice together this Preseason, so the Pats player are familiar with this defense. "You can take a little bit. It is not like you are going to say, 'Oh, you have it down' because we faced them during training camp," Gronk said. "That was four or five months ago. You can take a little bit. You can go back and see a couple of the matchups, but it is a whole season that already went by. You can go back, watch a little bit but definitely take a bit out of it. I wouldn't say you are going to be super complete watching that, but you definitely pick up some things." Gronk is going to have a big day on Saturday.

3rd and 8, Pitt went 3-Wide Weak shotgun. The Jags matched up in a more traditional 3-3 Nickel. Pitt motioned Empty again. The Jags sent four. Roethlisberger hit the little slot guy Rogers on a Screen, underneath the coverage, like the Jags wanted. Telvin Smith snagged his ankle to force the punt.

1st and 10, Jags lined up in a Twin-Twin I. The Jags like their Twins. The put Twin-WRs on the left and Twin TEs on the right. They faked the Jet sweep, and hand it off to Fournette. "They have great depth in their backs. They are all good. They are all explosive," BB said. "Fournette obviously has had a great year, but when he went out last week against Pittsburgh (sprained ankle in the 2nd), Yeldon came in and did a great job for them. Whoever is in there is going to be a problem. Like I said, the offense is a problem, the defense is a problem and special teams is a problem. That is why they are playing. They are good at everything. Good players and good coaches, a strong football team." Fournette slammed into the LB five yards down field. Then powered forward for four more and then the First.

1st and 10, Pitt went I-Formation: 1 for 1 Run. "It's key. You can see, whenever you run the ball, obviously they average 140 yards a game rushing, and that will open it up," McCourty said about the Jags play actions. "No defense can just sit back and let them run the ball and get 10, 15 yards. You have to try to be more aggressive, and they use that. They get defenses to start biting up, and they'll hit the tight ends. Obviously, they have a big target in Mercedes Lewis and they have a couple different types of tight ends to use.

"I think that opens that up in the middle of the field, and then when they get the opportunity, taking the shot deep down the field. We're studying the film, we know, but it's always a lot easier to sit here and talk about it and say, 'We've got to stop the run, we've got to stop the play action.' But they kind of go hand-in-hand. So, it's not an easy thing to do.

"And I think you saw that on Sunday when they got things going. Fournette being able to run the ball, and then Yeldon coming in. And once the shots opened up, taking the shots down the field. You saw that. Cole had a big catch down the field, I think that shows up time-and-time [again] when you're watching." The Jags ran play action. Bortles had time, and then tried to flick the ball underneath to Fournette blocking in the pocket, and the ball went incomplete.

This is almost exactly the opposite offense to the one the Titans ran. The Titans liked to run, but obsessively passed. While the Jags like to pass, but obsessively run. They also will pass and run out of most of their Formations, instead of only a few. This will be a much tougher offense to stop than the easy to read Titans offense.

2nd and 10, Jags motioned into a Tight Singleback: 1 for 1 Play action. Which they then countered with a Smash to the right. This is the first run to the right. Fournette ran low and mean for Six.

3rd and 4, Jags went double stacked 4-Wide Weak shotgun. Bortles had time, and threw behind the WR Hurns. The CB slapped the ball out to force the punt.

Fascist is as Fascist does. Beware American. President Jerkballs is pulling the cowardly republican Senate closer and closer to the cliff.

Amendment I. Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances:

The 1st Amendment to the Constitution is the greatest paragraph ever written by mankind. It is the truest diagram of how to ensure a free Country of citizens survives. But is is also a list of what to attack when you want to be a fascist dictator. President Jerkballs is attacking every article in the 1st Amendment. Beware suckers, or you will be subjugated:
