Thank you for your support and patronage, both are greatly appreciated. I cannot tell you how happy it made me when I read that report. So thank you Draft fans and Patriot fans alike, and mostly thank you to all the fans of my books and website worldwide.

Hangover.

This game went just as I predicted. The Pat would struggle in the 1st Half, and then dominate the 2nd Half. "It was a lot of things, and then when you add our poor execution on top of that, then you add our turnovers on top of that, it doesn't feel great because we worked pretty hard to play a lot better than we played," Brady said. "I give them a lot of credit, but we're going to have to play better on offense. We expect to go out and have a good week and try to fix the things that we saw tonight, and then try to play better next weekend." The two biggest factors being the Bye and the weather.

The Pats just weren't focused. And of course Houston was coming off their biggest win of the season, while also looking for revenge from the last two games. The Pats didn't just beat them the last two times they play, they embarrassed them. So Houston was hot and the Pats were cold to start the game.

It's like when you come back from a weeks vacation. The first few days back you are never really focused. Monday is a little hazy, and things will get worse or better mentally as you recover from the true freedom of vacation.

Well that is what it is like for players on a Bye. "It was a lot of things I think between what they were doing and what we were doing that were causing us problems," Brady said. "It was just very inconsistent for us all the way around. We just didn't do enough in any area, but they've got a good defense. They're ranked the first-ranked defense and I thought they did a good job. They had a good scheme and they were prepared. They played well." The offense looked like they had a hangover in the 1st quarter, like they got too drunk and stole Mike Tyson's tiger.

Sure, they started their normal week on Monday or Tuesday. But you can't tell me that they were as laser focused as they are when they have a normal game on Sunday. They looked like their creepy bearded cousin slipped some ecstasy into their Margarita this past Bye week vacation, and they left someone on the roof of Gillette stadium. The Groom was clearly missing from their offense. The hangover from their wild Bye week clearly gave them blurry eyes in the 1st Half.

They looked like they had a hangover the whole 1st Half. "They're one of the best defenses in the league. I mean, I don't think there's any question about that. Whatever stat you want to look at: they turn the ball over, they're good on third down, they're good in the red-area, they're good against the run, good against the pass, they're good against everything," BB said. "But a lot of mistakes we had; we had penalties, we had dropped balls, we threw the ball right to them, we fumbled it. Give them credit, but we've got to do better than that. We're going to play against another good defense this week." The Offense barely played.

Even the O-line was making mistakes right in the middle of the line. "They tried that against us last year and had a little success, so I think we were prepared for it," Brady said about the A-gap blitzes. "We just didn't do a great job executing. The turnovers obviously hurt us quite a bit, so we've got to try to tighten those things up this week. Whoever we play next week is going to be a great football team and we're going to have to play better than we played tonight on offense." Somebody on the offense had to have a little Korean gangster in the truck of their car.

But, when you can win ugly and hangover in the Playoffs that shows the makings of a Champion. "We had some opportunities to get off the field defensively. [But we got] penalties and could've stopped a couple of more plays and gotten off the field when we had opportunities to do that," BB said. "I thought we hung in there. We had a couple of sudden-change plays with bad field position and kept them out of the end zone. But yeah, we can do a better job defensively. We've got to tackle better, rush better, cover better. We'll need to play better this week and coach better, too. Like I said, I didn't think the coaching was all that great either." I don't think anyone was mentally sharp or focused coming back from the Bye hangover (that just doesn't sound right).

But then in the second Half that is when the invaluable rest started to take hold. The Pats were just a little more healthy, a little more rested, and a little less sore. When you add in the cold weather, and you are not just playing against a team from Texas, but a Dome team from Texas? Then they were so very predictably done in the 2nd Half. There is a reason that the only Dome team that has ever won the Super Bowl was New Orleans, after Katrina.

Playing in a Dome just makes you less tougher, especially at QB. Do remember being young and trying to throw the ball while playing snow football with frozen hands. It was fun, but never pretty. Three INTs in the 2nd half, after the temps drop into the teens, by a Dome QB is not unexpected. Osweiler looked like he had frozen hands in the 2nd Half.

Now the Pats have to put it back together mentally for their game against the Steelers. The Playoff Bachelor party is over. The wedding is done. The honeymoon has dripped off the melting snow. They just survived there Monday after vacation in the Playoffs. Now they can go back to the normal routine, and earn another trip to the Super Bowl.
